Dr Kamal Gupta is a senior consultant colorectal surgeon, widely known as the "Laser Man of India". He serves as the Medical Director of Karan Hospital in Jalandhar, Punjab. With over 36 years of surgical experience, he pioneered advanced laser proctology in North India. [1]

Dr Gupta has authored several landmark textbooks in proctology and anorectal surgery, published by leading global, international, and Indian publishers such as Springer, CBS Publishers, Jaypee, and Elsevier. His texts are widely used by trainees and practising surgeons [1,2,3] as practical, stepwise guides to operative learning and minimally invasive techniques.
